Frisco startup incubator: Blockchain is coming to esports
August 13, 2018The fast-growing business of competitive gaming is expected to begin adopting the underlying technology of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, according to a leading incubator of technology startups based in Frisco. Kedreon Cole, general manager and director of esports at Launchpad City, believes that startups that are looking to apply the latest technology to this sliver of the entertainment market will be successful.
Launchpad City struck a partnership with St. Louis venture capital firm Stadia Ventures earlier this year to bring an accelerator program for esports startups to Frisco.
Cole spoke with the Dallas Business Journal about what to expect from the new venture.
What plans do you have for the next year or so?
LaunchPad City will continue to invest in entrepreneurs and startup founders. Our goal from day one has been to facilitate relationships between the startup and investment communities. We intend to continue to look for corporate partners that want to collaborate in the development of innovative solutions across industries.
