German Games Industry Association Appoints Manager for Marketing & Esports
September 13, 2019The German Games Industry Association (also known as “game”) announced that Kristin Banse will join the organization as manager for marketing and esports. As well as being the main contact for members of “game esports,” Bense will further develop the association’s social media and online platforms.
Banse has previously worked in the German esports space, and was most recently working as an editor for agency Freaks 4U Gaming from November 2018. “I am very happy to contribute my previous professional experience and perspectives to game,” said Banse, in a statement. “I’ve been watching the successful work of game esports for a long time, and now I’d like to push this important engagement together with the members of game.”
The German trade group describes itself as the central point of contact for policymakers, the media, society, and industry on all topics relating to gaming. Its esports members include publishers such as Riot Games, Activision Blizzard, and Electronic Arts, competition organizers and production companies ESL, Freaks 4U Gaming, and Webedia, and the German Esports Association (ESBD).
Game is a co-organizer and sponsor of gamescom, the world’s largest video games event by attendance, which will take place from Aug. 21-24 in Cologne, Germany.
