The International Moves to Shanghai in 2019, First Time Outside of North America in 7 Years

The International 2019 will be held in Shanghai, China at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

• The stadium previously hosted the Shanghai Major, part of the tournament circuit that qualifies teams for TI, in 2016.

• This is the first time The International will have taken place in an Asian country.

On the last day of Dota 2’s world championship, The International (TI) 2018, developer Valve announced that the event will be held in Shanghai, China next year. This will be the first time The International has taken place outside of North America since the first TI at Gamescom in 2011.

In 2012, The International moved to Seattle, Washington, remaining there through 2017. In 2018, the event relocated to the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia.
